Why is it important?
Involving people in research leads to outcomes that are more relevant to people’s needs and concerns, are more robust and reliable and are more likely to be used to improve health and social care services.
Alongside professional researchers, members of the public, health and social care service providers and third sector organisations are involved in our research activities
Public involvement and engagement has helped us to:
- develop research that is relevant to stakeholders
- increase the reach of our work
- encourage members of the public to be engaged in research
