To align with the GLOBAL Intergenerational Week 2022, this year the Centre for Ageing and Dementia Research (CADR) in collaboration with the Welsh Cross Party Group (CPG) on Intergenerational Solidarity are running a competition to promote the connections and friendships made across the generations.

How to Enter

We invite you to submit photos which demonstrate these connections and relationships that are built outside of your family circle, along with a short description.

Closing date for entries is 22 July 2022.

*Prizes include: travel and an overnight stay in Cardiff for celebration at the Senedd on 15/11/2022, vouchers, chance of picture featuring in CADR calendar plus printed calendar for every entrant.

Terms & conditions:

  • The theme of the collaborative photography competition is Moments in time; Stronger together, promoting the connections and friendships made between people of all ages including younger and older people in the community
  • Entrants can submit up to three photos either by using this link: https://forms.gle/D7rHaS5tKka4jhCL8 ; email: momentsintime@bangor.ac.uk or by posting entries (size no larger than A4) to: Moments in time photo competition, c/o Dr Catrin Hedd Jones, Dementia Services Development Centre/ CADR, Bangor University, Ardudwy, Normal Site, Holyhead Rd, Bangor, Gwynedd, LL57 2PZ. Please remember to include a contact number or email if you are posting in entries. We may subsequently contact entrants to supply a high-resolution copy of the photograph. Any entry submitted via post will not be returned to sender
  • Each entry should be marked with the entrant’s name and would be useful to provide a short narrative about the connection. (no more than 50 words)
  • The competition closes at midnight on 22 July 2022.
  • All entries will be judged by a panel of experts and the winning photos will be part of a national exhibition starting in the Senedd and then touring across the seven Amgueddfa Cymru – National Museum Wales.
  • Entries may also be used in future CADR/CPG publicity and promotional materials as well as the winning entry being on the front cover of the 2023 CADR Calendar.
  • All entries must be the original work of the entrant and must not infringe the rights of any other party. The entrants must be the sole owner of the copyright in all photographs entered and must have gained permission of any people featured in their entries. Entrants must not have breached any laws when taking their photographs.
  • Entrants will retain copyright in the photographs that they submit. By entering the competition all entrants grant CADR & CPG the right to use the images on various publicity materials, on CADR website and social media sites. No fees will be payable for any of the above uses.
  • By entering you will be deemed to have agreed to be bound by these rules and CADR & CPG reserves the right to exclude any entry from the competition at any time and in its absolute discretion if CADR/CPG has reason to believe that an entrant has breached these rules.

Prizes

  • Top 3 winning entrants along with one companion of their choice to travel by train with an overnight stay in a hotel In Cardiff (arranged by CADR) to attend the launch event in the Senedd. Anyone is welcome to submit, however we can only facilitate travel for the winning entries that reside in Wales!
  • 1st Prize will have their photo on the front page of the CADR Calendar as well as a £25 gift voucher
  • 2nd and 3rd prize will also feature in the CADR calendar and receive a £20 gift voucher
  • All entrants will also receive a printed CADR Calander for 2023.
  • Our decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
