Translation of Genetic Findings into clinical and social impact
We will create models of AD using iPSCs derived from individuals at the highest risk of developing AD. These unique models can serve as powerful tools to investigate the complex genetics of polygenic disorders such as AD, and have the potential to yield important information about the molecular mechanisms underlying the development of AD.
The outputs from this work package will include:
- Polygenic score analysis and identification of individuals with the highest risk of developing Alzheimer Disease.
- Reprogramming PBMCs from selected individuals into iPSCs lines
- Differentiation of iPSCs into disease-relevant cell types, such as cortical neurons, microglia and peripheral leucocytes.
