Thursday 28 March 2019

10:00 - 12:30

Surf Room, Fulton House, Swansea University

In response to feedback from consultation events organised by Swansea Council’s Life Stages Team, a series of Fora has been planned, based on themes pertinent to supporting people to Live Well and Age Well. We are delighted to have the support of CADR as a partner for the initiative. This agenda supports Swansea Council, Welsh Government and the Older People’s Commissioner’s work programmes in this field.

Older people have identified the following as priority areas for discussion. Digital Inclusion, Information and Communication has been chosen as the subject of the first in the series. Further Fora will be held on Health & Wellbeing, Transport & Getting Around and Staying Safe over the next few months.

Each Forum will take the following form - a formal session first, with speakers and presentations on different aspects of the chosen theme, followed by a more informal ‘café’ session, where attendees will be able to socialise, network, chat with speakers and organisations and explore resources over a cuppa.

Speakers at this first Forum will include representatives from Swansea Library Service, Swansea Council Communication staff, Swansea University and Digital Communities Wales. There will be opportunities to learn about the tools and schemes available to support people getting online, support to access information through different media and opportunities to use IT equipment. Lunch is kindly being provided by CADR.

We are looking forward to presenting this new initiative, meeting people and making connections.
