Is loneliness among older adults a growing problem? And are some older adults more at risk of loneliness than others? This presentation will introduce the concept of loneliness. It will also cover how common loneliness is among older adults, risk factors and actions to combat loneliness.
Associate Professor Lena Dahlberg is a Senior Researcher at the Aging Research Center at Karolinska Institutet/Stockholm University and a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education, Health and Social Studies at Dalarna University, Sweden. Her research interests include loneliness and social exclusion in later life, and inequalities in access to formal and informal care.
